Audio-Technica has unveiled a dedicated gaming version of its 50 Series dynamic wired headphones called the ATH-M50xSTS , which is also aimed at streamers.
The classic closed-back design and proprietary 45mm-diaphragm dynamic drivers with powerful magnets deliver bassy, detailed sound perfect for gaming soundtracks. The enveloping ear pads are finished in fabric and leatherette, and the plastic cups are attached to the headband with metal guides. The weight of the headphones is 330 grams . The built-in gooseneck microphone is based on the proprietary 20 series microphone, which guarantees high quality communication.
The ATH-M50xSTS version has a non-detachable cable that must connect to both a 3.5mm jack and a Phantom powered XLR connector to polarize the capacitor. The second version of the ATH-M50xSTS-USB headphones is easier to connect, a USB-A or USB-C connector is enough (the corresponding adapter is included).
The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS and ATH-M50xSTS-USB gaming headphones are sold in the for 200 euros and 230 euros , respectively.
