Grimm Audio has announced the launch of the new MU2 digital streamer , which can also work as a DAC, preamplifier and headphone amplifier.
The streamer is equipped with a network player with the maximum possible support for all the options of the Roon software platform , as well as (optionally) a built-in SSD drive for storing your own audio library. Access to it is also organized through the Roon management platform. The Major built-in DAC is based on a proprietary FPGA board, combined with a unique set of high-resolution Pure Nyquist oversampling filters and subsequent 11th order filtering in a 1.5 bit architecture.
Of course, the model uses branded thermally stabilized master clock generators of the WordClock reference frequency. The presence of a balanced analog discrete pre-amplifier and an input switcher is also pleasing. According to the company, analog output level control will be available directly through the Roon platform. Switching capabilities of the analog part include one pair of analog balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs and the same set of outputs.
The retail price of the Grimm MU2 is expected to be €19,000 .
