Accuphase C-2900’s faithful reproduction is due to the AAVA balanced system, the result of 50 years of development.
Accuphase calls the C-2900 “the perfect preamp for passionate audiophiles.” Since its founding, the company has spent 50 years creating the perfect volume control circuit – balanced AAVA. With it, Accuphase promises a significant improvement in sonic performance.
In addition, the Accuphase C-2900 is equipped with a logic-controlled relay for signal switching, ensuring high sound quality and long-term reliability. The circuit boards use low-loss, low-loss fiberglass fluorocarbon resin and gold-plated copper foil conductors for signal transmission.
The power circuits are equipped with separate toroidal transformers and filter capacitors (10,000 uF × 4 pcs) for the left and right channels. The device received five line-level inputs, two balanced inputs, two line-level outputs and two balanced outputs. Line level input and output jacks are provided for a recording device, as well as a line output and balanced EXT PRE inputs for connecting an external preamplifier.
The system has individual phase adjustment for each input, switchable overall gain (12 dB / 18 dB / 24 dB), control of the balance of the left and right channels through the AAVA balanced control. The stereo signal can also be switched to mono, and the volume attenuator instantly reduces the sound level to -20 dB. The system also provides for fine-correction – a loudness compensator to correct the perceived spectral balance. The display showing the source and volume level is turned off.
On board is a discrete headphone amplifier with parallel push-pull output stages. A rumble filter is also provided, which cuts off ultra-low-frequency noise.
All of this is housed in a mirror-finished real wood veneer cabinet, carefully selected virgin wood, on high-carbon cast iron insulating mounts with excellent damping characteristics.
