Compared to the M11, the headphone outputs of the M11S have been slightly upgraded. When loaded into 32 ohms, the balanced output provides up to 670 mW of power, while engineers have achieved a record low self-noise of 1.8 μV from the circuit, which is 62% lower than in the previous generation of devices. Users, without any doubt, will feel the difference and appreciate all the innovations.
The M11S media player is based on the Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, exactly the same as in the more expensive M17 flagship player. The software part works on modern Android 10 with the mixer turned off and sample rate recalculation globally throughout the OS, so when installing Apple Music and other streaming applications, the user can be sure of bit-by-bit playback of files and maximum sound quality. Switching filters and the equalizer are in quick access, without having to look for something in the settings for a long time. Needless to say, the player has MQA 8x support for maximum quality decoding of streaming formats. Traditionally, the player can be connected to a PC and switched to USB-DAC mode with one touch or easily upload a library of media files to memory.
Two high-end ES9038Q2M DACs with support for any format up to 384 kHz / DSD256 work in dual mono mode and provide detailed music reproduction. The efforts of the developers were aimed at achieving the maximum return on high-quality electronic filling. The digital data passes through a custom FiiO-designed 4th-generation PLL FPGA circuit with two femto-clocks, covering the entire architecture and providing low jitter for any signal source. The current-to-voltage converter is based on a high quality SoundPlus OPA1612 op amp, followed by a filter circuit on the OPA1642 op amp. Balanced amplifiers are assembled according to a proprietary scheme on custom OPA926 chips.
In addition, the M11S player has high-quality power to match the audiophile stuffing. The power system consists of three stages, a battery, then a DC-DC converter, then linear regulators with high efficiency and effective ripple suppression. Each module of the system, including the digital part, the DAC, the op-amp preamplifier and the headphone amp, has separate power supply isolated from each other to achieve pure dynamic sound in any operating mode, even with demanding headphones.
