Schiit Vidar 2: Class A/B stereo assistant with convenient power button

Schiit Vidar 2 is an old school powerhouse introduced by Schiit more than five years after the first version of this model was released. Vidar 2, like its predecessor, is made in a completely proprietary Schiit ideology, which can be described as “nothing more”. Its fully discrete class A/B current feedback circuit delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

Differences from the original – improved power supply, higher quality components, more accurate temperature control and relay output. In addition, a power button appeared on the front panel (or rather, stand by mode). Previously, a lone LED was located in its place, and to turn off the device, you had to reach for the back wall, and many users complained about such ergonomics.

In the rest – everything is as before. Schiit calls the Vidar 2 an “exotic topology microprocessor controlled dual mono line power amplifier” from a 600VA transformer. The amplifier is offered in two finishes – black and silver.

In the US, the Schiit Vidar 2 stereo speaker was priced at $800, with the silver trim costing an additional $50.
