A developer called simonmacer has released a utility for fine-tuning NVIDIA graphics cards called NVIDIA Power Management. The application is an analogue of the popular MSI Afterburner, but unlike its competitor, it has one big advantage.

NVIDIA Power Management allows you to set limits on power consumption, the frequency of the GPU and video memory. A feature of the utility is the ability to adjust the above indicators for each specific application. For example, if a personal computer or laptop is used not only for games, but also for work and household chores, the user can set the “economical” settings for the last two tasks, and unscrew them to the maximum for the gameplay.

NVIDIA Power Management is built on NVIDIA-SMI (System Management Interface), a cross-platform tool that supports all standard Linux distributions supported by NVIDIA drivers and 64-bit systems starting with Windows Server 2008 R2. In simple words, the new utility is nothing more than a graphical interface for the command line. You can download the utility from the Source Forge website .
