TCL showed off its display technology innovations at DTC2023 in China with the unveiling of an unusual dome-shaped monitor. It uses a 31-inch diagonal curved OLED panel with 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and spatial viewing angle. According to the company, this achieves a new level of visual perception in gameplay.
In fact, TCL’s development is notable because it is the world’s first 31-inch dome monitor. These displays are typically used in large scale professional simulators, but this monitor strikes the perfect balance for home use. A screen of this size is most suitable for 4K, given the pixel density. And at the same time, it is large enough to justify some curvature.
In addition to the dome display, TCL showed off a 65-inch OLED display with 8K resolution, as well as a 27-inch 8K panel with a higher pixel density. In addition, the company has a solution for those who are used to using two monitors on the desktop – a 57-inch curved panel with Mini LED technology and a frequency of 240 Hz.
Of course, TCL’s innovations only concern image technology, not actual products.
