Creative Technology has released BT-W 4, a Bluetooth audio transmitter supporting Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive codec.
The Creative BT-W4 adapter has a working range of up to 50 meters (line of sight without obstacles). And because it’s powered by USB-C, the adapter supports plug and play functionality while consuming minimal power. The USB-C to USB-A converter has not been forgotten either.
Featuring an adaptive aptX codec, the BT-W4 offers high-resolution 24-bit audio at 48 kHz (maximum 24-bit/96 kHz USB input). The adapter offers automatic selection of bitrate and codec. It automatically scans for the adaptive aptX codec and optimal bitrate while monitoring radio transmission quality. AptX Adaptive will continuously scale across range and save power by using less data without sacrificing audio quality.
When using aptX Adaptive, the adapter light turns purple. When the color is green, it means the base aptX codec is being used. Bluetooth SBC is indicated in blue. BT-W4 can switch between four devices at the touch of a button. The kit includes a plug-in microphone that is convenient for use with game consoles to support Hands-Free Profile voice chat. The Creative BT-W4 adapter is compatible with PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5.
