Sonnettech has introduced adapters that allow you to connect two monitors to Apple M1 Mac computers. The adapters are available in either DisplayPort or HDMI options and support up to two 4K 60Hz displays using a single computer port, as well as bus-powered operation.
Each adapter comes with a non-detachable USB-A cable and a USB-A to USB-C male adapter. Adapters connect to a computer’s USB or Thunderbolt port for bus operation.
The new 13-inch Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro have only two Thunderbolt/USB-4 peripheral ports, one of which is used to charge the computer, so these computers only support one external display. Adapters from Sonnet just solve this problem, allowing you to connect two 4K 60Hz displays to one port on your computer, while keeping the other port for charging or connecting additional peripherals.
Sonnet DisplayLink Dual HDMI Adapter
Most dual port adapters are not compatible with M1 Macs or support lower resolutions. Sonnet’s DisplayLink Dual Display adapters support two 4K displays at 60Hz. The audio signal also passes through the adapter.
What about the prices?
The DisplayLink Dual DisplayPort and Dual HDMI Adapters for the Mac M1 will be available in February 2022 for $149.99 each.
