Strong Leap-S1: Android TV box with Ultra HD HDR support

The French company Strong Digital is known for developing decoders and set-top boxes for the Thomson brand. They released a new model of the Leap-S1 media player under their own brand.

The box is built on the Android TV platform and provides access to the Google Store from the TV screen. It also has streaming services built in from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + and more.

The set-top box can work with the following signal resolutions and video codecs – 2160p, 1080p, 720p, 4Kp60 10-bit H.265, 4Kp60 VP9 Profile 2, 4Kp30 H.264 , and also supports HDR format .

Wireless capabilities include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, and physical connectivity includes HDMI, S / PDIF output, Ethernet port, micro SD card slot and 3.5mm analog input. There are also two USB ports. In addition, the set-top box supports the Chromecast system .

The Strong Leap-S1 media player is sold in Europe for 70 euros .
