The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is probably the most popular graphics card that doesn’t exist yet. It seems like every single day we hear another leak or rumor about an alleged compromise between the RTX 3090 and the RTX 3080 . But given the fact that the RTX 3080 remains by far the best graphics card of all time, and looking back at the shortage of graphics cards, we believe no one will be able to buy the new 3080 Ti anyway, which gives Nvidia good reasons to drop the 3080 Ti.
If you want to know why the RTX 3080 Ti is really needed, all you need to do is look at the RTX 3060 . This is Nvidia’s mid-range graphics card released by the manufacturer in February 2021, which has got more VRAM than the flagship RTX 3080, which probably looks mediocre on store shelves. And as game textures get more complex, you’ll need over 10GB of VRAM, it’s only a matter of time, especially in 4K.

NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 TI RELEASED
Rumors of an upcoming release date for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti have flooded the web. We’ve heard of dates from October 2020 to May 2021. The first date apparently turned out to be untrue, but it was speculated that the graphics card would be released to quell the competition from AMD’s Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT. It turns out that this was not necessary.
There are currently rumors that the graphics card will launch in April 2021. However, we finally got to that deadline, but still haven’t heard anything specific from Nvidia. Team Green released the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti quietly in December 2020, so it’s possible something similar will happen this time around.
In any case, it is likely that Nvidia will not announce the RTX 3080 Ti until it is fully ready for sale. Given the ongoing shortage of GPUs, it’s unlikely the company is preparing a big promotion for yet another high-performance graphics card.

NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 TI PRICES
Despite the many rumors that circulated around the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, almost none of them touched the price of the video card. And, most likely, not just like that.
At the moment, given how difficult it is to get a new graphics card, and with OEMs constantly raising prices, it is difficult to determine the price segment of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. But the graphics card is likely to be expensive.
Existing leaks and rumors indicate that the RTX 3080 Ti will be very similar to the RTX 3090, with only half the VRAM. The suggested retail price for this video card is $ 1,499 and the actual retail price is much higher.
If we were to speculate right now, relying solely on rumors, we would say that it will land in the price range of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti , which in the Founders Edition sold for $ 1199.

RTX 3080 TI FEATURES
Since Nvidia has yet to announce specs for the RTX 3080 Ti, we have no idea what the graphics card can do. But this does not mean that they are not discussed on the net, there are enough assumptions.
The most controversial characteristic is still video memory. We initially expected the RTX 3080 Ti to offer 20GB of GDDR6X VRAM in conjunction with the 320-bit memory interface on the RTX 3080. However, recent rumors point to an RTX 3080 Ti with 12GB VRAM – the same as the RTX 3060.
This indicates a 384-bit memory bus, but the question arises why then Nvidia limited itself to 12 GB instead of 24 GB. Because when Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 3060, the spokesperson explained that the reason for equipping a video card with 12GB of video memory instead of 6GB, which is better suited for a card with a 1080p resolution, is Nvidia’s desire to provide users with the maximum amount of video memory available on the bus in order to prolong the relevance of the initial video cards in the line.
We’re not saying the rumors about the RTX 3080 Ti with 12GB VRAM are wrong – in fact, they are probably true – but the approach itself seems contradictory to Nvidia, which equips the 3060 with the same amount of memory.
Given that all competing Nvidia graphics cards run on 16GB of video memory, a flagship with less video memory is unlikely to be released. Keep in mind that we also considered the 3090 to be a fake, so we could be wrong.
Again, the GPU that is supposed to be at the forefront of the RTX 3080 Ti drives the RTX 3090, so the 12GB VRAM limitation could be a way to make the RTX 3080 Ti a more affordable version of the RTX 3090 – most gamers just don’t need the kind of VRAM that the 3090 offers. …
But another rumor disproves this, suggesting that the RTX 3080 Ti will receive 10,240 CUDA cores instead of the 10,496 cores that meet the RTX 3090 spec.
Even if the RTX 3080 Ti cuts core count to 10,240, it is a significant step up from the 8704 cores on the RTX 3080, making the RTX 3080 Ti an exceptional 1080p beast.
