Audio-Technica has unveiled the ATH-CKS50TW fully wireless earphones that can last up to 20 hours on a single charge (15 with Active Noise Cancellation enabled). The case will add about two more days to them, and 10 minutes of recharging will allow the headphones to work for an hour and a half.
These stayer abilities are complemented by a comprehensive proprietary set of features and capabilities. If we talk about sound in numbers, then the 9mm HD TWS drivers are capable of handling a frequency range from 5 to 20,000 Hz with a sensitivity of 110 dB/mW. The manufacturer promised “deep, powerful bass”.
Headphones support Bluetooth version 5.2 and quick pairing on Android, and with support for two connected devices at the same time. Game lovers are addressed to a low-latency mode, and high-quality sound will be provided by support for the aptX codec. In addition, Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring technology – independent transmission to the left and right side – will create a more natural sound.
The MEMS microphone will provide enhanced voice clarity with Qualcomm cVc 8.0 technology. The Sidetone function is also provided – it compensates for the distortion of your own voice in the headphones. In addition, the new product is compatible with Sony 360 Reality Audio and received JIS / IEC splash protection, which, according to Audio-Technica, is equivalent to an IPX4 rating.
In the mobile app, you can reconfigure the button assignments and the number of volume steps: 16 (default), 32, or 64. When removed from the charging case, the headphones turn on automatically. The headphones are equipped with hybrid structure liners that combine hard and soft silicone – this should add comfort.
In Europe, the Audio-Technica ATH-CKS50TW TWS headphones are already available for 170 euros.
