The German company Beyerdynamic , known for its headphones and microphones, has introduced its first wireless gaming headset, the MMX 200 Wireless . The new product is similar to other gaming headsets in the MMX line, although it got rid of the cable thanks to support for Bluetooth 5.3 and a proprietary wireless adapter that provides low latency, which is extremely important in the gaming process. This should give the MMX 200 a serious competitive advantage, as no one likes laggy or distorted audio when they’re trying to concentrate on a game. The wireless adapter is compatible with PC, PlayStation (PS5 and PS4) and Nintendo Switch, however you will have to connect to the 3.5mm headphone jack if you want to use the headset with the Xbox Series X.

Beyerdynamic has equipped the MMX 200 headset with dynamic drivers with a diameter of 40 mm. The manufacturer claims that these drivers are capable of recreating “gaming effects with vibrant audio reproduction.” They have increased sensitivity, excellent impulse response, and detail over an extended frequency range, meaning these speakers should deliver all the necessary detail needed for competitive gaming, such as footsteps and environmental effects.

The Beyerdynamic MMX 200 headset features a detachable boom microphone so you can communicate with your teammates during the game. This 9mm capsule microphone features an electret condenser capsule that handles higher maximum sound pressure levels (SPL) and lower noise levels. What’s more, Beyerdynamic says it’s more energy efficient than other gaming microphones, which is important in a battery-powered wireless headset. The manufacturer declares more than 35 hours of headset operation on a single battery charge.

The new Beyerdynamic MMX 200 wireless gaming headset is available in two finishes – black and grey. Beyerdynamic notes the use of premium materials in the manufacture of the headphones, including an aluminum headband, memory foam ear pads, and leatherette trim that can be easily replaced if necessary.

The Beyerdynamic MMX 200 Wireless headset is now on sale in Europe with a recommended retail price of €249.00/£249.99
