Bose has officially presented QuietComfort Earbuds II headphones . The second generation of an interesting model that was highly praised by reviewers, and which has some problems with ergonomics due to the size of the case. The new model has a smaller body size, new smart functions and customized noise reduction that can be individually adjusted to the shape of your ears.
QuietComfort Earbuds II have a new look. Despite being similar in style to the originals, they’re about two-thirds the size of the original QuietComfort Earbuds , and the weight is also reduced to about 6g per earbud. The charging case has also changed. Now it is not a wide and flat case, but a vertically oriented case like Airpods. LED indicators on the case allow you to know the battery charge level without turning on the headphones. The headphones are protected against moisture IPX4, the moisture protection of the case is not mentioned.
Earbuds II are equipped with FitKit from Bose – three sets of interchangeable tips for internal stops for the most comfortable fit and effective noise reduction.
The noise cancellation of the original headphones is the best in its class, offering 11 levels of intensity, as well as Aware Mode, which acts as a transparency mode.
EarBuds II improve on this with new “CustomTune” technology designed to calibrate both sound quality and noise cancellation to the unique shape of each individual ear. Sound calibration is activated every time the headphones are removed from the charging case and placed in the user’s ear. In less than half a second, the headphones reproduce the signature tone, and the internal microphone measures the acoustic response of the ear canal.
The same CustomTune technology now extends to the transparency mode, now called “Aware Mode with ActiveSense”, which instantly reacts to loud and/or sudden external sounds, including noise cancellation for as long as needed. Apple AirPods Pro 2 offers a similar “adaptive” transparency mode.
QuietComfort Earbuds II join a number of new headphones ( Samsung Buds 2 Pro , JBL Tour PRO 2 ) that use Bluetooth 5.3 for improved wireless communication. There is support for compatibility with AAC and SBC codecs.
The QuietComfort Earbuds II offer the same six hours of battery life as the previous model. However, you now get three more full charges in the case, giving you a total of up to 24 hours.
