The updated design of the case is based on a combination of maple and hemp fibers. This combination works well in the Grado The Hemp model . The use of wood as the material of the bowls allows for a warm and spacious tone of sound, which, in combination with the proprietary dynamic driver, gives the special sound signature of the Grado headphones .

Specially tuned for the RS2x wood cabinet, the new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a reduced effective mass voice coil and a re-configured diaphragm. Upgrading these components for 44mm drivers increases efficiency, reduces distortion, and maintains the harmonic integrity of your music.

Along with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for RS2x. Featuring a more durable appearance, the 8-core copper cable reveals even more of your music with improved clarity. The new black leather headband features white stitching.

The redesigned RS1x is a leader in Gen 4 X driver design and combines maple, hemp and cocobolo woods in bright and elegant headphones. For the first time ever, the Grado headphones combine three different types of wood. The body is made of a maple bush, a hemp core and a cocobolo outer ring.

Harnessing the full potential of the new 50mm X Driver, signature sound is taken to the next level when paired with maple, hemp and cocobolo. Maple takes over most of the work, hemp smoothes the tops and bottoms, and the cocobolo adds extra momentum. Combined with special Grado technologies, the sound produced by the wood is rich and dynamic.

The RS1x is the first headphones to use larger 50mm X drivers. Specially tuned for the Tri-Wood RS1x, this new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a reduced effective mass voice coil and a re-configured diaphragm. Upgrading these components for 50mm drivers increases efficiency, reduces distortion, and maintains the harmonic integrity of your music.

Traditionally, each pair of Grado headphones is handcrafted in Brooklyn.
