HEDDphone Two: New headphones with AMT drivers

Pasted 7

The first generation of full-size HEDDphone headphones , built on AMT (Air Motion Transformer) emitters , turned out to be interesting, but rather bulky and heavy – the model weighed 720 grams . The second generation, called HEDDphone Two, is designed to correct the shortcomings.

First of all, the weight of the headphones has decreased by 25%, and they now weigh 550 grams . The new model received a carbon fiber headband and lightweight cups with soft ear pads. The removable cable is attached using a 3.5 mm mini-jack to one of the cups; the cable jacket is reinforced with Kevlar fibers.

The drivers used in HEDDphone Two were developed by the Berlin company HEDD Audio and use VVT (Variable Velocity Transform) technology . It consists of creating a membrane with varying thickness and shape of folds, which allows for a wider frequency range to be reproduced. The declared operating range extends from 10 to 40,000 Hz .

Taking into account the low sensitivity of 89 dB and a nominal impedance of 41 Ohms , the manufacturer recommends using specialized amplifiers with headphones with a power of at least 200 mW , but better – from 1000 mW .

The wired HEDDphone Two headphones are available for pre-order at a price of 2000 euros .
