HIBY WH2: The first TWS headphones with LDAC support

Guangdong-based Chinese company HiBy Music has unveiled the Hiby WH2 fully wireless headphones and proudly announced that they are the first in their class to work with the LDAC codec, having received official certification.

It turns out that in this sense HiBy has overtaken even Sony – the developer of LDAC. This codec allows audio streaming over Bluetooth at up to 990 kbps at 32-bit / 96 kHz resolution and is adopted by Google for its Android operating system (Apple systems – neither iOS nor MacOS – support LDAC).

Strictly speaking, the LDAC hybrid coding method is not Hi-Res in the full sense of the word. But the signal quality is really great – especially when there is full hardware support for the codec. To match all the components, HiBy WH2 is available in single and dual-driver (Twin BA) versions: the first uses a speaker with a carbon nanotube diaphragm, the second replaces it with a pair of reinforcing emitters.

The adjustable crossover in the Twin BA version works on a digital version based on DSP and can be configured in the Blue proprietary application. The novelty will use Bluetooth 5.2, and for voice communication it is provided with two microphones.

The HIBY WH2 Hi-Res TWS headphones are slated to hit the market in June. HiBy has not yet shared pricing information.
