Moondrop has introduced its premier in-ear headphones, the Moondrop Psyche. Crafted as a collectible item, these headphones boast a unique design with handcrafted faceplates showcasing the MITSUKIYUKI character, created through traditional craftsmanship. The Moondrop Psyche headphones are equipped with a hybrid assembly of ten drivers, comprising two dynamic drivers, four balanced armature drivers, and four planar magnetic drivers. These drivers are managed by a sophisticated three-way crossover that utilizes both physical and electronic technologies.
The faceplates are made using techniques from the Chinese Bronze Age, featuring inlaid gold and silver accents. Artisans hand-inlay rose gold and yellow gold onto the ribbed silver side panel. Moondrop craftsmen employ multiple cycles of engraving and polishing to vividly express the character of MITSUKIYUKI.
The Moondrop Psyche in-ear headphones feature a sophisticated hybrid design that incorporates ten high-quality drivers on each side. At the core of this setup are two 10-mm dynamic drivers arranged in a unique HODDUS (horizontally opposed dual dynamic driver module) configuration, positioned directly across from one another. This innovative arrangement optimizes the magnetic field in the space between the drivers, resulting in outstanding bass performance. To ensure exceptional clarity and fidelity in the mid-range frequencies, the Psyche is equipped with four balanced armature drivers. Additionally, the headphones excel in the high-frequency range, thanks to the inclusion of four microplanar drivers.
The Moondrop Psyche in-ear headphones feature a premium hybrid cable crafted from single-crystal copper and coated in pure silver, arranged in a litz wire braid. This cable includes 2-pin 0.78 mm connectors for headphone attachment and a balanced Pentaconn 4.4 mm plug. Additionally, the product comes with a USB-C DAC that includes a headphone amplifier, capable of handling PCM digital streams with specifications up to 32 bit / 384 kHz. Users can control the DAC through the exclusive Moondrop Link app designed for mobile devices.
