The NDH 30 is the second headphone in the catalog of Neumann Berlin, a company famous for its microphones and known in the studio monitor market. The first Neumann headphones, closed NDH 20, appeared in 2019.

This time Neumann offers an open model. The firm claims that the NDH 30 “reproduces the linear sound image of the Neumann KH-Line loudspeaker system, perfectly calibrated using the MA 1’s automatic monitor setup.” The company recommends the NDH 30 for creating binaural mixes of immersive content.

The firm also ensures that the NDH 30 is manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, so all headphones sound the same. Namely – reproducing the range of 12 – 34,000 Hz. With a sensitivity of 104 dB at a frequency of 1 kHz, the novelty at the same frequency of 100 dB SPL showed a THD level of less than 0.03%. The NDH 30 speakers received 38 mm diaphragms and neodymium magnets, and the impedance of the model was 120 ohms. Neumann claims that the sound of the NDH 30 “competes in sonic resolution with planar systems”.

“We wanted to create headphones that are completely reliable and give you the confidence you need to make the right decisions. The NDH 30 will definitely show basses that are too loud or vocals that need to be de-essed,” said Sebastian Schmitz, Neumann Portfolio Manager.

The NDH 30 is available in white aluminium/anthracite gray and comes with a balanced cable that improves channel separation.

In Europe, the price of the Neumann NDH 30 headphones is 650 euros.
