Nothing has officially unveiled the second generation of its wireless headphones. Nothing Ear (2) retained the original design using transparent materials, which is the main feature of the brand’s products, but at the same time underwent certain functional changes. Of course, for the better.

Like the first version of the headphones, Nothing Ear (2) has active noise cancellation up to 40 dB. Users can customize the operation of noise reduction using three available modes: Light, Maximum and Transparency, the function is controlled through the Nothing X application. The 11.6 mm drivers received a new membrane made of graphene and polyurethane. The increased internal space of the headphones made it possible to make the sound more saturated. The manufacturer claims to support the high-quality LHDC 5.0 codec, and each headphone is capable of streaming audio up to 24 bit / 192 kHz.

Nothing Ear 2 received updated drivers, support for Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair, as well as a personal sound profile.

Nothing also paid special attention to improving the personal sound profile of the headphones, which allows you to calibrate the headphones to the user’s ear canal using a quick test in the application. There you can additionally adjust the equalizer according to your musical preferences.

Nothing Ear (2) can be connected to multiple devices at the same time, such as a smartphone and a laptop or tablet. In this case, the headphones will transmit everything that is played from the corresponding device when a signal is detected. The manufacturer promises a more stable connection thanks to Bluetooth 5.3. There is also support for Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for quick pairing with Android and Windows devices.

Each earphone is equipped with a 33 mAh battery, which allows them to work up to 4 hours with active noise cancellation or 6 hours without it. The charging case provides 22.5 hours with ANC or 36 hours without noise cancellation. Supports 2.5W Qi wireless charging.

Nothing Ear (2) is available to pre-order now for $149 or €149 depending on region. Headphones will appear on free sale on March 28. So far only in white.
