Sennheiser IE 600 are wired headphones equipped with 7mm full range drivers. How much easier. Only now, in order to equalize the sound characteristics, the company has developed resonator chambers, the dimensions of which must be maintained as accurately as possible. Therefore, it was decided to make Sennheiser IE 600 cases from zirconium – and not cast, milled or cut, but use a 3D printer.
Zirconium is an exceptionally strong and practically non-corrosive material; it is not without reason that drills for the rover were made from it. It’s hard to say to what extent the choice of zirconium ZR01 was dictated by marketing, but the durability and stability of the Sennheiser IE 600 headphones is beyond doubt.
Each TrueResponse transducer is manufactured in-house by Sennheiser. Paired with resonator chambers, the speakers, according to the company, sound “with a neutrality reminiscent of studio in-ear monitors” and allow new details to be revealed in music.
Otherwise, everything is pretty familiar – the IE 600 comes with cables with a 3.5 mm or 4.4 mm jack on standard MMCX coaxial connectors. The manufacturer did not inform about the effect of zirconium on the sound quality.
The model has a typical impedance of 18 ohms for in-ear headphones, and the frequency response ranges from 4 Hz to 46 kHz. The maximum sound pressure that IE 600 can develop is 118 dB.
The appearance of new items on sale is scheduled for the end of spring. In Europe, the price of the Sennheiser IE 600 will be 700 euros.
