Ultimate Ears has launched the flagship UE Premier in-ear headphones , custom-made according to the impression of the customer’s ear canal.
Headphones have a five-way design, each of them has 21 reinforcing emitters . The lower bass is voiced by an assembly of 4 emitters, two more quad emitters are designed for midbass. Mid and high frequencies are reproduced by two similar assemblies of 4 drivers each, and the proprietary True Tone Plus driver has been specifically designed to reproduce higher harmonics.
The claimed frequency range extends from 5 to 40,000 Hz . The case is made of transparent acrylic, its shape corresponds to the mold provided by the buyer when ordering. The passive isolation level is -26 dB . An IPX connector is used to connect a detachable cable to the headphones ; on the side of the signal source , the complete cable is terminated with a 3.5 mm minijack .
The Ultimate Ears UE Premier in-ear armature headphones retail for $3,000 , excluding the cost of the cast.
