Accuphase has unveiled the DP-450 CD player, the successor to the high-end DP-570 SACD / CD player technology and the successor to the DP-430.
The device was seriously updated – a newly developed drive mechanism was installed, and the chassis frame was also replaced. Previously, it was 7-section, but now there are only two sections left: the digital circuit is on the right, and the analog circuit is on the left. Moreover, each block is placed so that the signal path is as short as possible.
According to the manufacturer, special attention was paid to the suppression of noise and vibration during the development of the DP-450. The special viscoelastic dampers use new materials and shapes – according to Accuphase, as a result, external vibrations now affect the laser sensor by 50% less. At the same time, the reading accuracy of the DP-450 has increased tenfold.
The new product has a 32-bit DAC Hyper Stream ES9026PRO from ESS Technology. In total, the DP-450 uses four parallel DACs per channel in a fully balanced structure, according to the improved proprietary Accuphase MDS (MultipleDeltaSigma +) technology.
As a result, the signal-to-noise ratio in the DP-450 reached 119 dB. The novelty has received coaxial, optical and USB inputs, the latter accepting up to 32 bit / 384 kHz PCM or 11.2896 MHz DSD.
As a CD transport, the DP-450 outputs a digital signal to the coaxial and optical outputs. And since the DAC and CD-player sections can work separately, you can easily connect, for example, an Accuphase DG-68 digital equalizer between them .
The DP-450 displays the operating parameters on the front display, and it is convenient to control the device using the complete remote control. In terms of design, this is a typical representative of the Accuphase catalog.
