Accuphase has released the twelfth generation of the fourth series integrated amplifier, called the E-4000 .
The device is enclosed in a massive case of classical design, painted in the golden color traditional for the company’s products. On the front panel there are large arrow indicators of the output power level, duplicated by a small digital display. Rotary knobs on the edges of the panel are used to control the volume and switch inputs. Additional controls are hidden under the hinged cover – timbres, channel balance, phase switching and others.
The model provides outputs from the pre-amplifier to RCA and XLR , in total, up to 6 signal sources can be connected to the amplifier – on the rear panel there are six unbalanced inputs on RCA and three balanced on XLR. Those wishing to expand the functionality of the model can order an optional AD-50 phono stage board or DAC-60 DAC .
The output stages of the amplifier are built on a push-pull circuit with bipolar transistors and can deliver 180 watts into 8 ohms and 260 watts into 4 ohms . The declared damping factor is 800 units. Overall dimensions of the device – 465 x 161 x 428 mm , weight – 24.4 kg .
