Bluesound Node 2i and Powernode 2i: Updated streamer and integrated amplifier

Bluesound released new versions of their popular products – music streamer Bluesound Node 2i and integrated amplifier with network functionality Bluesound powernode 2i .

New items received updated chips in the DAC units, more powerful central processing units and improved control keys. In addition, the Powernode 2i’s power output has increased from 60 watts to 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms.

The processor part of the new generation of models is built on a 1.8 GHz quad-core ARM  Cortex A53 processor , and the DAC can now work in streaming mode with 24/192 signals and convert decoded MQA files . In addition to Wi-Fi and Ethernet, Bluesound Node 2i and Powernode 2i can receive digital signal through optical and coaxial inputs, USB Type-A and HDMI eARC ports. There is also a bi-directional Bluetooth module onboard with aptX HD support.

Both models support, in addition to the proprietary BluOS ecosystem , the AirPlay 2 protocol and are Roon Ready . The Bluesound Node 2i and Bluesound Powernode 2i will go on sale in June for £ 549 and £ 849 , respectively.
