German company Clearaudio has unveiled a more affordable version of its popular Concept Signature model – the Clearaudio Signature turntable , which will be offered only in a finish that the manufacturer calls “triple black” and with two tonearm options: Tracer Black Carbon Fiber and Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber . The Clearaudio Signature features an external 12V Signature Professional Power linear power supply ($800), which provides “cleaner” power to the Signature AiR motor and a sophisticated electronic self-regulating system.
The manufacturer emphasizes that the Clearaudio Signature turntable combines the “technologies and advances in materials science” of the entire line of Clearaudio turntables, including the coreless AiR 12V DC motor with a new speed control circuit borrowed from the Reference Jubilee model.
The Clearaudio Signature turntable features a newly developed Tacho-Speed-Control (also known as TSC) system that continuously monitors platter speed and provides real-time feedback to the control electronics, allowing the system to “react immediately to dynamic inputs” such as such as needle resistance, belt tension, friction and/or temperature.
The O-Ring IMS, also derived from the Reference Jubilee, effectively isolates the AiR’s DC motor from the turntable table, protecting it from vibration.
As noted above, the Clearaudio Signature player comes with a choice of two tonearms – Tracer Black and Black Satisfy. Both tonearms feature black carbon fiber tubes that are exceptionally light and rigid. The Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm is considered Clearaudio’s “established benchmark” and is now available in all black. The Clearaudio Direct Wire tonearm cable terminates in gold-plated RCA connectors.
The Tracer Black Carbon Fiber tonearm features a precision bearing, aluminum headstock with a large mounting surface for easy azimuth alignment and optimal counterweight. The Tracer is connected using a Clearaudio Sixstream cable with gold-plated RCA connectors. The Clearaudio Signature player is equipped with adjustable Performance DC supports, which reliably isolate the device from vibrations.
The Clearaudio Signature turntable should be available in the second quarter of 2024, and pre-orders for the new product are already being accepted. The Clearaudio Signature turntable with the Tracer Black Carbon Fiber tonearm costs $5,000 , and the Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm costs $4,000 .
