Launching in December 2022, the EMT 928 II is a reimagining of the classic 928, first released fifty years ago. The original turntable was a joint effort between EMT and Thorens engineers and was the only belt driven turntable in EMT’s history.
The new EMT 928 II was created by a Swiss design team led by Micha Huber and retains little of the original design.
The turntable is enclosed in a massive case, machined from aluminum alloy and resting on four anti-vibration supports. The main feature of the model is battery power from an independent battery, which allows you to completely eliminate the influence of network interference. The battery capacity is enough for 40 hours of playback.
The spinner supports three rotation speeds – 33.3, 45 and 78 rpm , rotation is transmitted to the subdisk using a belt. The main aluminum disk weighing 5.5 kg is supplied with an antiresonant mat.
The total weight of the turntable is 23 kilograms , the turntable is supplied without a tonearm, however, it provides for the installation of a proprietary 9-inch EMT tonearm. The price of the EMT 928 II player is 9500 euros .
