FiiO has partnered with sister brand Jade Audio to unveil the new KA5 portable digital – to-analog converter and headphone amplifier .
The device is housed in an aluminum case with tempered glass front and back panels. The DAC block contains a dual chip CS43198 from Cirrus Logic , which works with PCM signals 32 bit / 768 kHz and native DSD256 stream .
The headphone amplifier is built around two SGM 8261 op amps , providing an output power of 122 mW into 32 ohms on a 3.5 mm jack and 265 mW into 32 ohms when connected to a balanced 4.4 mm jack. The 3.5mm jack can optionally be used to output a digital SPIDF signal for connection to an external DAC.
There is a small OLED display on the front panel of the device , it is convenient to control the main functions using physical control keys that have two modes of operation. The model also supports the proprietary FiiO Control app . The weight of the device is 19 grams with dimensions of 56.3 x 22 x 12 mm .
