The Italian company Gold Note has introduced a new version of its Gold Note CD-1000 MKII CD player , which received the Deluxe DSD suffix in the model name. Even the “standard version” of the Gold Note CD-1000 MKII CD player combines Austrian StreamUnlimited Engineering GmbH’s JPL-2800 precision optical drive with a flawless D/A converter, balanced configuration and powerful power supply. And all this technical luxury is dressed in a stylish case.

ImageThe Gold Note CD-1000 MKII Deluxe DSD is equipped with a USB-B port for connecting a computer capable of receiving Linear PCM digital streams up to 32bit/384kHz and DSD up to DSD256. The manufacturer pays special attention to the fact that the name of the new version of the player can be misleading – the component is not designed to play SACD discs – the DSD abbreviation in the name indicates the possibility of decoding the corresponding material coming to the USB input.

ImageThe built-in D/A converter in the Gold Note CD-1000 MKII Deluxe DSD is based on Burr-Brown PCM1796A chips from Texas Instruments, which is capable of decoding up to 24-bit/192kHz PCM signals from not only optical drives, but also optical and coaxial S/PDIF inputs. Further processing of the analog signal is carried out by a balanced output stage. There is also a coaxial digital output for connecting to an external DAC unit.

The new Gold Note CD-1000 MKII Deluxe DSD player, just like the basic version, can be upgraded with a whole range of options offered by the manufacturer. These are Gold Note TUBE-1006 and TUBE-1012 lamp output stages, as well as Gold Note PSU-1250 and Gold Note PSU-1000 external power supplies.

The new exclusive version of the Gold Note CD-1000 MKII Deluxe DSD player is available in gold, black and silver finishes. Recommended retail prices for new items will be announced later.
