HiFiMAN EF400: Stylish DAC/ Amplifier with superior sound

HiFiMAN EF400

HiFiMAN introduced the EF400 DAC/ Amplifier . It became the first device of this type in the last 10 years of the Chinese manufacturer’s existence.

Fully balanced with the HIMALAYA R2R DAC architecture, the new EF400 pays homage to the EF6 . The architecture chosen by the company’s engineers is characterized by low power consumption and high sampling rates. Using a large array of high-precision resistors with a “tape” conversion method allows you to convert a digital signal with high accuracy.

There are four balanced inputs on the front panel: unbalanced 6.35 mm and 3.5 mm, balanced 4.4 mm and four-pin balanced XLR . On the back, users will find RCA , USB-B , USB-C jacks , as well as fully balanced line- level XLRs .

Signal-to-noise ratio – 118 dB, THD + N – 0.002-0.004%, power – 4.4 W per channel. With this amount of power, the EF400 is the ideal DAC amplifier to pair with planar headphones.

Specifications:

  • THD+N (Line out) : Between 0.002% and 0.004%
  • Channel Separation : 125+/-3dB
  • Signal to Noise Ratio : 118+/-3dB (A Weighted)
  • Maximum Power Output : 4.4 W per channel
  • Dimensions : 246.5mm(L)×228mm(W)×61mm(H)
  • Weight : 3.08kg

The device will go on sale in March 2022 for $ 599 .
