The Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2023, which will be held at the end of February, will see the re-debut of the British firm Pink Triangle. The company did not survive the decline in sales due to the stagnation of vinyl 20 years ago, but now, apparently, it has risen again and will present at the exhibition a Blue Danube concept turntable paired with The Funk’s Akutrak phono stage.

Founded in 1979 in London by Neal Jackson and Arthur Khoubesserian, Pink Triangle is renowned for its innovative turntable designs, for example being one of the first to actively use acrylic in turntables. Now the firm has once again raised the slogan “Closer to the Master Tape” to its shield, and Arthur Hubesseryan’s theory of the “isolation bubble” is implemented in the Blue Danube model.

Particular attention is paid to customization in the design: according to the developers, it will be possible to assemble the turntable exactly the one that suits a particular setup and interior. The novelty is called “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”, because it looks like a designer thing, but in fact “technically rebuilt more seriously than standard reference models” and has a low level of rumble. True, there are no specifics yet.

The turntable will be paired with The Funk’s Akutrak phono stage, which, according to the manufacturer, “corrects errors in the cartridge’s frequency response.” In addition, other products from The Funk, known for its anti-vibration accessories, will also be shown at the exhibition. For example, the 2023 ROK series coasters are custom-designed for specific models by Rega, Linn, Thorens, Technics and more.

The list of new products from the brand does not end there: Pink Triangle also plans to show active floorstanders that will be stylistically combined with a vinyl system. In the UK, The Funk Akutrak phono stage costs £1,800, the Pink Triangle Blue Danube turntable will be priced at £8,000.
