Pro-Ject Audio Systems called their MaiA DS3 “the swiss army knife of amplifiers”.
The novelty is made in a “half” form factor (206 x 71 x 240 mm), while the MaiA DS3, made in the “dual mono” design, is promised the ability to shake even headphones and speakers that are difficult to control. With up to 140 watts per channel with 4 ohm speakers, the MaiA DS3 boasts nine inputs, and the built-in phono stage supports MM and MC cartridges.
In addition, there is an onboard DAC with asynchronous XMOS USB 24bit/192kHz, and for digital sources the MaiA DS3 has a coaxial S/PDIF, two optical S/PDIF and, as mentioned, a USB input. This list is in addition to the AptX HD Bluetooth input. Three additional line inputs are intended for the rest of the equipment (if it still remains).
In addition, MaiA DS3 received a dedicated subwoofer output. For multi-room systems and connection of additional amplifiers, MaiA DS3 has one fixed and one adjustable pair of RCA output connectors. The built-in headphone amplifier outputs a signal to the 6.3 jack.
Trigger input and output will contribute to the management and commonwealth with external devices in the device. Remote control included. The all-metal housing protects the electronics from interference and is available in black or silver with wooden side panels (available separately). All this is handmade in Europe.
