Pro-Ject has announced the release of a new mid-range turntable, the X8 .
It uses a belt drive, the 5.1 kg disc is completely made of aluminum and is equipped with an additional damping polymer ring. The turntable’s table is made of fiberboard and can be covered with white or black lacquer, as well as natural walnut veneer. The disc is supported by an inverted ceramic bearing, and a built-in neodymium magnet reduces friction for added stability and smoothness.

The turntable is equipped with a 9-inch tonearm with a carbon fiber tube. The turntable rests on aluminum feet with elastomer pads. The Pro-Ject X8 weighs 15 kilograms .

The Pro- Ject X8 turntable will be sold in the European market for 2,000 euros without a head and 2,300 euros with an Ortofon Quintet Blue MC head.
