The Shanling CR60 allows you to play and copy audio CDs. Shanling CR60 is a pure CD transport, so it is not equipped with a DAC unit, delegating this task to an external DAC, an integrated amplifier with digital inputs or active acoustic systems, which can be connected using an optical or coaxial S/PDIF interface. The component is also equipped with a USB-A port for connecting a digital-to-analog converter, in particular, a so-called USB dongle.
The new Shanling CR60 can also be used to rip audio CDs. The new product can be connected via USB-C or USB-B directly to a PC or Mac, a Google Android smartphone, or even some Shanling portable DAC models. For mobile devices such as Shanling smartphones and portable DACs, there is an Eddict Player mobile gadget app for ripping CDs. In the simplest case, the new Shanling CR60 can even rip CDs to a USB flash drive.
The Shanling CR60 is equipped with a high-precision Philips CD drive with a Sanyo HD850 laser head. The new product is housed in a compact body measuring no more than 20 x 18 x 5 cm and is available in silver or black. An infrared remote control is included in the package, and power is supplied either by an external 12 V DC power supply or via a USB-C port.
The new Shanling CR60 CD transport will go on sale in late September 2024 with a suggested retail price of US$269
