Danish company System Audio A/S has expanded its WiSA-enabled SA Silverback wireless series with a Silverback 1 stereo pair. Each of these two active wireless speakers is the size of an A4 sheet at the front. Due to the shallow depth of 13.5 cm, acoustics can be placed not only on special racks, but also on the table – this is also hinted at by the case slightly tilted back. In addition, the speakers work great in the wall version – mounts are provided.

Silverback 1 systems are two-way bass-reflex systems, with an 80 W amplifier powered by DSP-based signal processing for each of the bands. The set is promised a frequency range from 45 Hz to 25 kHz. In addition, the built-in DSP is further configured during room calibration.

The System Audio SA Cockpit app is used for this purpose. It is developed in versions for Apple iOS and Google Android. As for connecting speakers, any appropriate device using WiSA technology will do here: it provides wireless transmission of an audio signal with a resolution of 24 bit / 192 kHz with almost no delay.

System Audio has a compact and discreet Stereo Hub for this purpose. Its digital input switching is HDMI, USB-B, three optical and one coaxial S/PDIF input. There are also analog inputs – a 3.5 mm mini-jack and a pair of RCA. Over the network, Stereo Hub implements UPnP, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect. There is also Bluetooth 5.0. In addition to the System Audio SA Cockpit app, the Stereo Hub also has its own remote control.

The System Audio SA Silverback 1 kit will be available in Summer 2023. Satin White and Satin Black design options will be equally available to every owner – bezels in two finishes are included.

In Europe, the suggested retail price of the System Audio SA Silverback 1 is 2,400 euros.
