Technics has announced the availability of a new generation of direct drive turntable, the SL-1200GR2 .
The updated turntable still uses a brushless motor, the speed accuracy of which is now ensured by the proprietary JENO Engine (Jitter Elimination and Noise-shaping Optimization) digital amplifier, powered by delta-sigma modulation. The manufacturer promises a significant increase in the accuracy of disk rotation at all speeds.
The changes also affected the power supply, which received a low-noise circuit from the company’s top player SL-1000R . The player’s platter is made of cast aluminum alloy and is equipped with a thick rubber mat; the body is also double-layered – it combines aluminum and BMC composite material .
The Technics SL-1200GR2 , as well as a black version called the Technics SL-1210GR2 , is scheduled to go on sale in October 2023, with a retail price in Europe of 2,000 euros
