Topping has released a new compact power amplifier designed for desktop audio systems, available in two versions, the PA5 II and PA5 II Plus .
Amplifiers have the same dimensions and a set of inputs, they differ only in power when operating on a load of 4 ohms . The Topping PA5 II Plus puts out 125 watts per channel versus 100 watts for the Topping PA5 II . The power at a resistance load of 8 ohms is the same for both models – 65 watts .
To connect analog signal sources on the rear panel there are two inputs – unbalanced on RCA and balanced on TRS connectors. Switching between operating modes and switching on trigger control is carried out using a two-position switch on the front panel.
The input sensitivity is 1.3 V unbalanced and 2.6 V balanced, the large attenuator knob is located on the right side of the front panel. With compact dimensions of 16.6 x 12.9 x 4.1 cm, the model weighs 680 grams . The amplifier is powered by an external 38 V adapter.
The Topping PA5 II and Topping PA5 II Plus power amplifiers are sold online for $249 and $329 , respectively.
