WestminsterLab introduced the phono stage Monologue, designed to work with both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. According to the developers,“thanks to the closest attention to details and innovative design, Monologue sets a new standard in preserving the subtleties and nuances of the music.
Regardless of whether you use MC, MM or even DS Audio head, you can be sure that the Monologue is accurate will reproduce the recordings on your records with exceptional clarity and accuracy.”.
External design of Monologue, as well as circuit design, reflects the WestminsterLab tradition by minimizing unnecessary features and embellishments to ensure the purest sound possible. There are no people of color here displays, rotary switches and other distracting elements. Inside the case Monologue you will find a carefully designed power system. Manufactured by custom power toroidal transformer with a power of 260 W ensures reliable and stable power supply to the device. These transformers are specially designed for Monologue.
The circuit design uses solutions borrowed from the Quest model and additionally optimized for Monologue. The main attention in this optimization was focused on achieving the lowest possible noise level, which would allow Monologue to reveal the deepest nuances and subtleties of musical works.
The Monologue phono stage is equipped with six power sources. Thanks to the implementation of the “dual mono” concept and separate power supply, the new product provides an exceptional level of channel separation. The balanced phono stage architecture provides extremely low noise levels.
Despite the fact that Monologue is made in fully balanced architecture, most turntables have an unbalanced output. To solve this problem, WestminsterLab developed a special converter from an unbalanced signal to a balanced one. Besides, The phono stage supports work with optical cartridgesDS Audio. Monologue phono stage equipped with a special power supply for the cartridge LED. DS module Audio includes two built-in high-pass filters providing flexibility of customization.
