Pioneer Unveils Elite VSX-LX805 Premium 11.4-Channel AV Receiver

The page for the Elite VSX-LX805 AV Receiver The AVR, as the flagship model of the Pioneer Elite line, has appeared on the Pioneer Home USA website. In addition, the Elite line will include 3 more models with indices 505, 305 and 105. And we are kind of told that Elite is something that stands apart and is higher in relation to other brand products.

The VSX-LX805 is the first Pioneer model to be co-created by Premium Audio Company, a member of Voxx International, which bought the rights to Pioneer’s home entertainment brand in 2021. Rob Standley, Senior Vice President of Global Brands at Premium Audio Company, stated that the VSX-LX805 went through “rigorous auditioning with our engineers making circuit adjustments to deliver the most dynamic and expressive performance, delivering on the promise of bringing the listener as close as possible.” to the intention of the artist.

The result of the development was a device that processes video content with high dynamic range (HDR) – Dolby Vision and HDR10 + via HDMI 2.1 / HDCP 2.3, with 4K and 8K resolutions. For this, data transfer rates up to 40 Gbps are also used. Accordingly, the reciever is fully compatible with current game consoles, such as the Xbox Series X.

Video signals pass through seven eARC-compatible inputs (six of them 8K capable) and three HDMI outputs. Three optical and two coaxial inputs are reserved for digital audio. For analog, there are four unbalanced RCA inputs and two balanced XLR inputs, plus a dedicated phono stage input. For example, additional power amplifiers can be connected to the system – RCA pre-outs for all channels are provided for this. Separately added stereo outputs Zone 2 and Zone 3.

Two 32-bit Saber HyperStream ESS DACs are responsible for processing audio signals, which output a signal to class AB balanced amplifiers. In total, there are 11 such terminations on board, ready to deliver 150 watts of maximum power to 8-ohm speakers. The amplifier section has a battery of custom capacitors with a total capacity of 18,000 microfarads.

As expected, the new product supports Dolby Atmos (including Dolby Atmos Music from Apple Music, Amazon Music and Tidal), as well as DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced mode. Auro3D is expected to be added in June and Roon Ready in September via firmware updates. The Elite VSX-LX805 AV receiver can also become a completely advanced streamer – Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora are available via Chromecast and AirPlay 2. The picture is complemented by Bluetooth with support for aptX. The device can be controlled using Josh, Alexa, and Google voice assistants, and smart home controls and integrations are not forgotten.

In terms of precise sound settings in accordance with the acoustics of the room, in addition to the latest version of Pioneer’s multi-channel acoustic calibration (MCACC), Dirac Live Room Correction is supported in the system. For a fee, Dirac Live Bass Control can be added to one or both of the Elite VSX-LX805 supported subwoofers.

Pioneer’s Elite VSX-LX805 11.4-channel AV receiver will be available in the spring for $3,000 in the US. For the Dirac Bass Control software for one subwoofer, you will have to pay an additional $350, or $400 for two.
