MacBook Pro 2021: Goodbye TouchBar and MagSafe Again?

According to analyst and insider Ming-Chi Quo, Apple is going to seriously update the MacBook Pro line. Ming-Chi Quo mentions a product redesign that will even eclipse the MacBook Pro 16. Of course, we are talking about the new MacBook Pro devices with ARM-based processors. Interestingly, most likely these versions will no longer receive Intel chips, even in a custom configuration.

First, Ming-Chi Quo talks about 14- and 16-inch versions of the laptop. Interestingly, it looks like Apple will ditch the touchbar. Physical function buttons will appear instead. Also, according to an insider, the MagSafe magnetic charger will return. But that’s not all – new MacBooks may have I / O ports (which are not yet known), which means for most users the purchase of specialized accessories – everything we love. True, perhaps we are talking about classic HDMI, USB-A and even a card reader.

The design of the devices will resemble the iPhone 12 and iPad Air, that is, we will talk about the Flat Edge Design language. Interestingly, the insider notes that for five years the touchbar has not taken root and users want to feel the press of physical buttons.

At the same time, the 9to5Mac portal says that it would be great if Apple returned an SD card reader that looks elegant and is comfortable to use.

As a result, we can get a product at the request of users, the ideal device for those who have not changed the MacBook Pro since 2015 due to the fact that there was no touchbar, but there was an excellent set of ports, a card reader and MagSafe. If you add an ARM processor to that, a lot of professionals are likely to upgrade their laptops.

New MacBook Pros with 14 and 16-inch displays should be expected in Q3 2021.
