Just as we anticipated, Google has unveiled the Pixel 7 series to compete at the high end. This time we will focus on getting to know the Pixel 7 Pro , which is the elite of the elite in the mobile field. We can anticipate that it outlines a continuous design and does not make radical changes to the formula, but it does make iterative improvements to the device; here we can point to the Google Tensor G2 chip and the new Android 13 as some of the most significant changes.
This is the Google Pixel 7 Pro
The Google Pixel 7 Pro begins its bet with a 6.7-inch pOLED screen , which exhibits a flat design, 2K resolution (3120 x 1440), 120Hz refresh rate and maximum brightness of 1,500 nits . As if that were not enough, it is well protected from scratches and bumps thanks to its seventh generation Gorilla Glass.
As we had anticipated, the processor on duty is the Google Tensor G2 chip developed in house. This one is not alone, as the Titan M2 security chip provides the Pixel with several layers of security that contribute to its protection and update. In this sense, 5 years of security updates for the device are guaranteed.
In addition to a robust processor and security chip, the Google Pixel 7 Pro is equipped with 12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage.
The battery is also worth mentioning, promising 72 hours of autonomy using the new energy saving mode despite the fact that the capacity remains exactly the same (5,000mAh).
In another order of ideas, Google goes fully with the photographic section and puts on the table a triple rear camera of 50MP + 48MP (telephoto) + 12MP (ultra wide angle) . For its part, the front camera remains with a 10.8MP sensor.
Again, the interesting thing about the proposal is at the level of software and photographic capacity, Google’s specialty. Going into details, the photographic set has 5x optical zoom, image stabilization, Super Res mode up to 30X and the ability to record in 4K @ 60FPS with HDR10 on both cameras.
To put the cherry on the cake, Sharpen Photo mode debuts, which basically improves the resolution of blurry photos using AI.
Availability and price
We can now reserve the Pixel 7 Pro from €899 . It will be available along with its smaller brother in the Google store and on Amazon from October 13, 2022.
