Qualcomm has announced the Plus version of the Snapdragon 888 chipset

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G chipset at MWC 2021. This is a slightly overclocked version of the regular SD888 . The main core of the Kryo 680 runs in the SD888 + at frequencies up to 2.995 GHz (2.84 GHz in the SD888). In addition, the sixth generation of Qualcomm’s AI engine received a 20% increase in performance, from 26 TOPS to 32 TOPS. Otherwise, SD888 + and SD888 are no different.

The company notes that the SD888 and SD888 + are responsible for the performance of “over 130 devices already released or in development.” ASUS, Honor, Motorola, Vivo, and Xiaomi will be the first manufacturers to launch SD888 + devices in Q3 2021. In particular, the new product should appear in the ASUS ROG Phone and Honor Magic 3.

Qualcomm also revealed at MWC 2021 that it has reached an agreement with 39 partners in the mobile industry who are committed to supporting 5G mmWave networks.
