Many Android smartphone manufacturers, from Samsung to Google, support eSIM, Apple has also launched the iPhone 14 series with eSIM (but only in the US). Xiaomi also has devices with eSIM support, but, in fact, only the recently introduced Xiaomi 12T Pro became the first global smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer with eSIM.
How it works
eSIM means you don’t need to install a physical card – the digital SIM is already installed on your smartphone and you will never lose it. In addition, eSIM simplifies the transition from one mobile operator to another. For example, Redmi Note 10T also supports eSIM, but it only works in Japan.
As for Xiaomi 12T Pro, eSIM support is announced in many European countries, in the UK, Chile, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, etc. – there are several dozen countries in the global market in the official list. The carriers that support eSIM on Xiaomi 12T Pro are also listed. For example, in Ukraine these are Kyivstar and Lifecell, in the UK – EE, O2 and Vodafone, in Poland – Orange, Plus and T-Mobile, in France – Bouygues Telecom, Free, Orange and SFR.
