Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo team up to make it easier to transfer data between smartphones

For many users, switching to a new smartphone (and even a different brand) is a whole problem. And all because you need to take care of transferring your data from one Android device to another. Some manufacturers offer built-in tools, however, they only work well when the user switches to a smartphone of the same brand. To solve this problem or make it a little less, leading Chinese companies have teamed up to create a new solution.

Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo have once again teamed up to develop a built-in data transfer tool on the mobile devices of these three brands. If previously owners of Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo smartphones could only transfer photos and contacts, now they can share third-party applications with data. The procedure is almost the same as transferring regular files between devices of the same manufacturer.

This functionality is available to users in China, but may soon work in other countries.

At the moment it is not entirely clear whether this functionality will appear in other markets, but the chances are high. Since peer-to-peer transfer of information from one smartphone to another is available outside of mainland China, it can be assumed that the new data transfer tool will also be available to users from other countries. It is worth noting that almost all brands, including Samsung (only for China so far), have joined the Transfer Alliance since its inception in 2019. Accordingly, other brands will probably also cooperate to implement a new improved data transfer system between Android devices from different manufacturers.

Remember that Google has its own solution for transferring data between different smartphones, but it does not work perfectly. And don’t forget about Android’s Nearby Share feature, which allows you to share files between Android devices.
