In 2023, a new model of mirrorless camera is expected to be released, which will be a logical development of the Canon EOS R5 camera . It is expected that this will happen at the end of the year – in the fourth quarter.
It is also reported that the appearance of not one, but two new cameras at once. One of them will probably be called the Canon EOS R5 Mark II and will be a natural continuation of the previous model. The second camera will be equipped with an even higher resolution sensor, according to one of the foreign media, citing a source.
It is worth noting that Canon has not yet officially announced the development of the second generation Canon EOS R5. Presumably, the new camera will receive more advanced video recording features and an improved cooling system. The second model may have advanced features for photographers who require ultra-high resolution.
Earlier, citing a source, it was reported that the Canon EOS R5 Mark II camera will have a number of interesting technical characteristics. It is expected to be equipped with a new 61-megapixel full-frame CMOS BSI sensor and two DIGIC X processors . In addition, the camera will be capable of shooting at high speeds up to 30 frames per second using an electronic shutter and up to 12 frames per second with a mechanical shutter.
The Canon EOS R5 Mark II will also feature 8-stop Image Stabilization (IBIS) and a new High Definition mode. It will feature a 2x, 4x and 8x digital teleconverter, as well as a second-generation autofocus system similar to the Canon EOS R3 and Canon EOS R6 Mark II models .
An important feature of the camera will be the ability to internally record 8K video at 60 frames per second , as well as 4K recording at 30, 60 and 120 frames per second with resampling, probably from 8K. The EOS R5 Mark II will feature a new heatsink assembly for longer run times without overheating. The camera will feature dual CFexpress Type B memory card slots, a standard HDMI port, and dual USB-C ports. It will also feature a high-resolution 9.44 million-dot electronic viewfinder and a new vari-angle LCD monitor design optimized for video recording.
