Hasselblad has unveiled the new Hasselblad 907X camera and CFV 100C digital back. The medium format system received a 100 megapixel back-illuminated sensor, an autofocus system and an internal 1 TB SSD drive.
The new Hasselblad 907X supports 16-bit color photography and has 15 stops of dynamic range. By the way, video recording is not supported.
The camera offers what is known as Hasselblad Natural Color and is compatible with all XCD, HC/HCD and Xpan lenses. The physical size of the CMOS matrix is 43.8×32.9 mm (medium format). The autofocus system supports 294 phase detection points. Available ISO range: 64-25600.
The back includes a 3.2-inch LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 2.36 m. There is 1TB internal SSD memory, as well as Wi-Fi and USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 connectivity.
Both elements of the new system: the Hasselblad 907X camera and the CFV 100C back create a compact, yet powerful medium format camera with a wide range of optical capabilities.
The 907X and CFV 100C feature a classic design with a waist-mounted viewfinder, leather-like finish and chrome frame. The viewfinder can be tilted upward at an angle from 40 to 90 degrees to make it easier to choose the appropriate angle.
The CFV 100C rear module, combined with Natural Color Solution (HNCS) technology, delivers unprecedented color accuracy, reproducing scenes as the human eye perceives them, the manufacturer says. You can capture images in JPG or RAW format. With 16-bit color depth, up to 281 trillion colors can be produced.
The 1TB built-in memory allows users to store up to 4,600 RAW images directly on the camera. The 1 TB SSD is claimed to have write speeds of up to 2,370 MB/s and read speeds of up to 2,850 MB/s.
Apart from the 1TB built-in storage, it also has a CFexpress Type B card slot. However, for some reason, it only supports a maximum storage capacity of 512GB.
Hasselblad 907X and CFV 100C are now available for order at a price of $8,199.
In the summer of 2023, a kit was announced : the Hasselblad X2D 100C medium format camera with XCD 1.9/80 and XCD 4/45P lenses. The Hasselblad X2D 100C camera has a 100 MP medium format BSI CMOS sensor. The company said that this sensor, combined with the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution, will produce accurate skin tones – both in RAW and JPG formats. The camera supports 16-bit color depth. This provides additional color correction options.
