Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm F4.0 PRO Lens

Along with the Olympus PEN E-P7 mirrorless camera , OM Digital has introduced the new M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm F4.0 PRO wide-angle zoom lens . It is a sealed, high-power compact zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras such as the Panasonic GH5 / GH5s and the recently announced GH6. This is the first lens in the M.Zuiko PRO series to feature a retractable mechanism to keep lens size to a minimum. Despite being a high magnification ultra wide-angle zoom lens, it weighs only 425g.

The lens has a maximum magnification of 0.42x and a minimum focusing distance of 23 cm throughout the entire zoom range.

M.Zuiko Digital 8-25mm F4.0 PRO supports Focus Stacking technology, which allows you to combine images into one photo, all elements in which will be in focus from foreground to background.

For this lens to support focal alignment, the E-M1X or E-M1 Mark III will need the latest firmware released on April 6, 2021. Those using the E-M1 Mark II or E-M5 Mark III will need to update their cameras firmware, which will be available from today. Other Olympus cameras do not support Focus Stacking.

The lens is IPX1 splash, dust and frost resistant and can operate in temperatures as low as -10 ° C. The front lens has a fluorine coating. The filter thread is 72 mm.

A manual focus clutch can also be noted, which allows users to switch between auto and manual focus. On the side of the lens is a function button that allows you to change settings.

What are the prices?

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm F4.0 PRO Lens is already available for pre-order for $ 1,100 and will go on sale in July 2021.
