OM System M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO Lens Officially Unveiled

OM Digital Solutions has officially unveiled the M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO (40mm full-frame equivalent) lens . According to the manufacturer, the new prime lens combines both high aperture and outstanding resolution. The novelty will go on sale at the end of November 2021. This compact and lightweight lens is designed for a variety of genres, from landscapes to portraits. And this is the first product of the new OM SYSTEM brand .

Compact and lightweight high-aperture PRO lens

Outstanding resolution and unique to M.Zuiko PRO lenses, an optical design of 11 elements in 10 groups, consisting of a Super ED lens, ED lens, Super HR and aspherical lenses, efficiently positioned for sharp images from the center to the farthest corners of the frame. This lens allows you to get the most out of your camera’s features, including capturing high-resolution stills from High Res Shot.

Leveraging the advanced technologies derived from the development of the M.Zuiko PRO F1.2 series, the lens creates incredible bokeh that gradually creates blurriness from the in-focus area to the out-of-focus area.

The lens remains compact and lightweight (247 grams) with a maximum aperture of F1.4. And the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III Camera Kit weighs just 661g for impressive portability.

Shoot in any conditions

The lens is fully sealed and offers IPX1 equivalent splash protection. It also has a dustproof and frost-resistant design (down to -10 ° C). Combined with the dustproof, splash-proof and frost-resistant camera model, you can safely continue shooting in harsh conditions such as rain or snow. A fluoride coating on the front lens prevents moisture and dirt from trapping on it.

Superior optical design and advanced autofocus technology deliver faster, more accurate focusing, allowing users to enjoy fast, high-precision shooting.

The new lens is designed for stunning close-up shots with a minimum focusing distance of 25 cm and a maximum image magnification of 0.22x * for close-up photography. Beautiful, smooth bokeh creates blur for creative macro photography.

The 40mm equivalent focal length is slightly wider than standard lenses for a natural sense of perspective. This unique viewing angle is ideal for a wide variety of scenes such as landscapes or portraits.

What are the prices?

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO lens will be available to order from the end of November 2021 at a retail price of 699 Euros.
