Tamron has announced new advanced optics for mirrorless cameras – Nikon Z and Sony E systems. Both lenses received advanced features, high optical performance and a wide range of focal lengths.
Tamron 35-150mm F/2-2.8 (for Nikon Z)
This lens has been previously released for other bayonet mounts (for Sony E). Now the lens is also available for Nikon Z full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The Tamron 35-150mm F/2-2.8 lens offers a close focus distance of 33cm and a 9-blade rounded aperture. Aperture range F / 2-F / 16 (wide), and F / 2.8-F / 22 (telephoto). The front thread for the filter is 82 mm, and the lens has no optical stabilization.
By the way, you need to consider that this lens turned out to be quite massive and heavy. It weighs 1165 grams, and has a size – diameter: 89.2 mm, length – 158 mm.
In the future, similar optics may also be available for the L-mount bayonet mount, since Samyang, which also produces this optic has officially joined the L-mount alliance. There is no information on the release of such optics for the Canon RF system yet.
The price of the Tamron 35-150mm F / 2-2.8 lens for Nikon Z is $ 1999. Deliveries will begin on September 21, 2023.
Tamron 17-50mm F/4 Di III VXD (for Sony E)
Tamron also introduced another lens – this time for the Sony E bayonet mount.
This lens is quite unique due to the wide range of focal lengths for full-frame cameras and a constant f / 4 aperture. In general, this lens can be used conveniently when working with stabilizers, since it does not change in size when zooming and focusing. However, it is not yet known when this optics will be available for sale.
Tamron says the movement is powered by a VXD linear motor. It delivers fast, quiet and reliable autofocus. At the same time, the Tamron 17-50mm F / 4 Di III VXD lens has a waterproof design.
The front element is fluorine coated for easy cleaning. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 19cm at the wide end and 30cm at the long end. However, the lens is not equipped with an optical stabilization system.
The lens barrel has a 67mm front filter thread. Part of the specifications about this lens has not yet been disclosed.
The Sony 16-35mm F/2.8 G-Master II was previously announced . It has become more compact, lighter than its predecessor. Image quality has also been improved with a completely redesigned optical design of the lens.
The company said that the new Sony 16-35mm F/2.8 G-Master II also features reduced chromatic aberration, improved sharpness, and more optimized focus breathing when recording video. With the announcement of this lens, Sony has completely closed the line of G-Master zoom optics with F / 2.8 aperture.
