The Japanese Canon website has announced the demise of the EF-M system and offers to go to the museum to view the exhibits. These same exhibits are the beloved mirrorless cameras with the EF-M mount, including the first “emka” EOS-M and EOS M6 Mark II, with which the author of these lines shot for many years and about which he wrote a lot of lines.
I apologize, but even in the introductory paragraph it is very difficult to contain sad emotions when the era in which you are involved is passing.
Further, one could write many lines of praise and not so much about this system, these cameras and lenses, as well as some compatible lenses from third companies that I had the opportunity to try and test. But why?
This step from Canon was expected by many and, in fact, is unlikely to surprise anyone. Now only RF. For example, users can expect models with an APS-C matrix such as the EOS R50 and EOS R100.
